Energy Catalyst buys Troy warehouse for its heat pump manufacturing work

“Heat-pump maker Energy Catalyst recently purchased the vacant warehouse property in Troy that it’s transforming into a $10 million manufacturing facility.

The geothermal startup paid $550,000 for the 2.36-acre site at 60 113th St. in the Lansingburgh neighborhood, according to a deed filed in Rensselaer County. The seller was Liberi Properties LLC of Loudonville.”

Affordable, workforce housing coming to Saratoga Springs

“Site work for another 98 units of affordable and workforce housing in Spa City got underway Monday to meet what officials have deemed an “acute” shortage.

Beacon Communities and Saratoga Springs Housing Authority announced in a Monday press release $42.8 million project to demolish six outdated fourplexes on Allen Drive and build six three-story buildings that will include one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The units will be for single adults and small families whose income is 50% to 80% of the area’s median income. Of the 98 units, almost 40 will be prioritized for people working in the Capital Region.”

AngioDynamics hopes NanoKnife will be go-to prostate cancer treatment

“Latham-based medical technology company AngioDynamics is ramping up marketing of its NanoKnife cancer treatment machine after receiving approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its use on prostate cancer patients.

The FDA approval, which was announced in early December, is providing AngioDynamics with a huge opportunity to grow its medical technology, or med tech, business.”

Schenectady County set to buy more land for aquatic center

“Schenectady County is seeking to purchase another property on Erie Boulevard to facilitate the construction of a long-talked-about aquatic center.

The county’s Committee on Economic Development and Planning on Monday advanced a resolution to purchase 151 Erie Blvd. for $420,000, marking the latest development for the state-of-the-art swimming facility that has been discussed for more than a decade, gone through several proposed sites and has received millions in public support.”

Malta’s Unified Beerworks partners with DeCrescente

“Unified Beerworks is partnering with DeCrescente Distributing Company (DDC) to expand its reach, offering its draft and packaged beer across the 11 New York counties where DDC operates.

‘Prior to selecting DDC to be our distribution partner, we were always restricted by our limited amount of time to sell and distribute our beer,’ said Jeff Mannion, who owns Unified with his wife Erika Anderson.”
