Common Roots Brewing Co. adds hard cider to its offerings
“Common Roots Brewing Co. is breaking into a new market with the launch of a hard cider this week.
The South Glens Falls-based brewery is starting distribution of Common Roots Original Hard Cider by Dec. 27.”
Bilinski’s looking for more space as demand for its chicken sausages increases
“Bilinski Sausage Co. of Cohoes is “actively looking” for additional manufacturing space in the Capital Region and elsewhere, according to Stacie Waters, the company’s president and CEO.
Waters said the company has seen double-digit, year-over-year revenue growth since the pandemic. The company’s 80-person head count is twice what it was four years ago and is expected to grow by another 25% this year.”
Rosenblum’s co-warehousing concept Launchbox begins to fill in Colonie
“A new concept in warehouses for the Albany region has been gradually filling with business owners looking for a small but expandable place to manufacture products, fulfill orders, store inventory and/or do office work.
Launchbox at 6 Northway Lane in Colonie has signed leases with about 30 businesses since last March.”
United Group’s City Station North in Troy under construction
“It was nearly two decades ago that the United Group of Cos. was chosen by the city of Troy to redevelop the Congress Street/Ferry Street corridor downtown — an area that included an abandoned car wash, land where public housing once stood and woods bordering Prospect Park.
Fast forward to last summer, when ground was broken on the fourth and final phase of a large mixed-use development known as City Station.”
Schenectady casino and retail businesses around continue to prosper
“Elizabeth Kulkus, manager at The Costumer, says the exposure her shop gets when someone sets foot in their Mohawk Harbor retail store near Rivers Casino & Resort is good for business — even if the person leaves without making a purchase.
The century-old business moved in September 2021 from Central Avenue in Colonie to prime real estate on Harborside Drive, a location closer to its warehouse on Barrett Street.”
Albany’s dreams of downtown development finally see money
“Jeff Buell is one of the most optimistic people when it comes to downtown Albany and its potential for redevelopment.
Buell, who has been involved in various developments in Albany over the past decade, said for downtown Albany to achieve its potential, there needs to be energy, creativity — and millions of investment dollars.”
43 SUNY University at Albany researchers ranked in top 2% worldwide
“Nearly 12% of the research faculty at the University at Albany have been recognized for being among the top 2% of researchers in the world.
The annual list, which considers how many times other researchers cite another researcher’s work, lists 43 UAlbany faculty.”
