Greg Connors appointed CEO of Saratoga Economic Development Corp.
“GlobalFoundries’ government relations leader Greg Connors has been appointed to head job creation efforts in Saratoga County as the next president and chief executive of Saratoga Economic Development Corp.
Connors succeeds Dennis Brobston, who retired last year after 24 years with the economic development organization.”

“Saratoga County native Mike Spiak spent years flying to New Zealand and back as a member of the Air National Guard.
It gave him a chance to explore the South Pacific nation’s wineries and it was his inspiration to open a winery in Saratoga County. Now he and his wife, Kelly, are opening a combined vineyard and winery in an Amish-built timber frame barn.”
Victor Abate becomes CEO of GE spin-off Vernova
“Longtime local General Electric Co. executive Victor “Vic” Abate was chosen last week to lead the wind business of GE’s energy spinoff, GE Vernova.
The appointment assures that GE Vernova, which has established its new corporate headquarters in Cambridge, Mass., will have top leaders with strong ties to the Capital Region.”
$290K boat launch project to begin
“Restoration of the boat launch at Dutchman’s Landing is scheduled to begin immediately after the Labor Day weekend, with a complete demolition of the old launch making way for a safer facility with an increased capacity for marine traffic.”

“Columbia-Greene Community College on Monday welcomed new students for the 2023-24 academic year. This year’s incoming class reflects strong enrollment growth, which follows a significant rise in enrollment in the 2022-23 academic year, according to a media release from the college.”
