Through the support of the Manufacturing Association of New York (MACNY), CEG launched the Manufacturing Intermediary Apprenticeship Program in the Capital Region. The New York State Registered Apprenticeship Program is a formal training program that combines on-the-job training (OJT) with formal classroom education (Related Instruction) to prepare individuals to enter and grow in new careers.

Apprenticeship programs allow businesses to fill key positions, create a pipeline of talent, and offer training and growth opportunities to new hires. It also creates a system by which experienced tradespeople mentor new employees so that companies can retain institutional knowledge and prepare for retirements.

The NYS Department of Labor is the oversight body for all Registered Apprenticeship Programs. CEG acts as a direct link between companies and the NYSDOL, to support businesses, business leaders, and HR teams to design, implement, and manage their apprenticeship programs. Apprentices are selected by you, the employer, and must be full time employees. They are paid according to a formalized wage progression so that as they learn more and have more skills, they are also paid more for their work.

Funding Opportunities

CEG charges a modest administrative fee for the management of apprenticeship programs. There are funding streams available to help offset those and other costs related to apprenticeship programs. Funding may include tax credits, wage reimbursement, tuition assistance, and other incentive funding. CEG will help you apply for and coordinate these funding opportunities; some of which are listed below.
