RAD Soap grows with Urban Outfitters as latest wholesale client
“RAD Soap Co., the company based in Albany, New York, that makes plant-based body and beauty goods, will start selling five of its products at Urban Outfitters this week.
Sue Kerber founded RAD seven years ago with her sons, Zak and Max. The company started in her kitchen in Cohoes, where she was using natural ingredients to soothe her son Zak’s eczema.”
Old Starlite site, Palace on state money wish list
“The local Regional Economic Development Council has announced the projects it wants funded in the $800 million race this year for state grants and tax credits. The top projects include redevelopment of the old Starlite Theater property in Colonie and the Palace Theatre’s proposed renovation and expansion, which was on the wish list last year.
The requests were included in the council’s 2017 progress report released Wednesday, a document that also details which of the already funded 115 Capital Region projects have been completed, delayed or terminated since the state award system started six years ago.”
Transfinder passes 100-employee mark, continues to grow
“Transfinder marked the fourth anniversary of the opening of its downtown headquarters Tuesday with more than twice as many employees as when it moved in.
The company also goes into its fifth year here with several job openings and a host of product updates and roll-outs in progress.”’
Meet the Albany area students who are starting their own businesses on campus
“From technology that speeds up disease research to support services for military veterans, students at local colleges are starting and growing their businesses on campus.
These students often take advantage of support services and incubators, such as IgniteU NY and Innovate 518, to help start and grow their companies. Innovate 518, a partnership program between several area colleges and universities, provides business services to qualifying technology startups in the area.”
Rozell Industries to expand in Kingsbury industrial park
“Rozell Industries is planning to construct a new building at its site in the Airport Industrial Park in response to growing demand for the company’s fabrication services.
The business plans to construct a 12,000-square-foot building on one of its vacant lots it owns in the park located off Queensbury Avenue.”
