UAlbany announces new College of Nanotechnology, Science and Engineering
“The University at Albany and its nanotechnology college are back together again.
UAlbany announced Wednesday that the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering has officially returned to its founding parent institution. The college — which had been spun out as part of a plan to form the SUNY Polytechnic Institute a decade ago — has been merged into the engineering college that UAlbany started in the interim.”
$100M Albany Airport Project Underway – Expansion of Terminal, Enhanced Passenger Amenities
“Work is underway on an overall $100 million project at Albany International Airport that will support the expansion of the airport’s terminal, provide enhanced passenger amenities both pre and post checkpoint and allow more efficient passenger flow through security.
“Our upstate airports are essential to our local economies, and we are committed to making them as welcoming as possible for residents and visitors alike,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said, while announcing the project update last week.”

“Derek DeMeo sees a big opportunity with his latest company, Preparo.
DeMeo has spent the last five years building what he calls a better virtual assistant company, during a time when hiring for lower-level positions is a challenge.”
Albany Inno – New York state’s innovation arm names new director and leader of accelerator funding
“New York state’s innovation division has named a new executive director.
Ben Verschueren will start as executive director of Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) Monday, working with startups and entrepreneurs as well as incubators and universities.”
