CEG & Siena Research Foundation: Manufacturing Outlooks & Supply Chain Report | Dec 9 | 12:00-1:30PM
Manufacturers around the world and domestically have been challenged by the global pandemic. There were disruptions at all stages that led to lost business, cancelled orders, closures, supply chain shortages, increased costs and more. Understanding the impacts on critical supplies, effect on business outlook, workforce loss, and the critical essential assets is an important step in developing the story to facilitate a roadmap for better resiliency and communicating the needs to our regional and national leaders.
The Center for Economic Growth, in partnership with Siena Research Institute, conducted a Supply Chain and Business Outlook survey among New York State manufacturers between July and October of 2021.
Please join us on December 9th as we host with the Siena Research Foundation on the findings of this survey.
Zoom link will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
CEG & Reshoring Institute: What the Pandemic Taught Us: Building a Resilient Manufacturing Business | Dec 14 12:30-1:30 PM
The pandemic strained industries around the nation and at the core of these supply chains were disruptions from both domestic and offshore manufacturers. Some were prepared, but many were unprepared for the many months of varying disruptions to supply chains, workforce, price increases, mandates, and more. Though we saw New Yorkers step up in many ways to REACT to the ever changing challenges, there were definitely cracks. So we ask, how can we do better?
The Center for Economic Growth, in partnership with the The Reshoring Institute conducted in-depth research to better understand the challenges, best practices and opportunities that we were presented in the last 18 months. This included doing in person interviews with manufacturing companies, government leaders, associations, and regional economic development leaders as well as gathering intelligence from different publications around the state and the nation.
Please join us on December 14th as we host with the Reshoring Institute on a summary of the research, findings, and recommendations.
